• Perspective on Future Clean Coal Technology of USA

  • Experimental study on the effect of varying dosage of emulsified collector on the separation of ultra-fine coal

    The effect of the varying dosage of emulsified collector on the separation of the separation process for ultra-fine coal was investigated.Three kinds of interface chemistry techniques: conventional flotation,aggregative flotation and oil agglomerates screening were used in this process.The addition of collector to a suspension of small hydrophobic coal particles sets up a flocculation process in which oil droplets can condense at the points of particle contact to form pendulum bridges.Depending on the amount of oil,this pendulum flocculation process can result in the formation of flocks,macro flocks or spherical agglomerates.The agglomerates were viewed and photographed with a transmitted light microscope with research quality optics.Agglomerates size distribution was measured by laser beam master size.The product ash content and the yield were determined.The study aims at optimizing the condition for beneficiating ultra-fine coal.

  • Transformation of Flotation Tailing Coarse Grain Recovery System

  • Analysis of Coal Gasification Technology

    It was introduced two kinds of representative coal gasification processes.The Texaco configuration using slurry coal feed gasifier and Shell configuration with dry coal feed gasifier were compared for finding affection to total gasification performance.Different technical features and critical equipment are also analyzed.The dry feed method avoid losing energy for gasified water,and more flexible distribution of nozzle than the coal water slurry feed method were illuminated.Finally,described the Shell process had more advantage than Texaco process by some primary performance parameters.

  • Effects of some Factors on the Formation of NOx Precursors during the Pyrolysis of Shenmu Coal

    Pyrolysis is the first and essential step in coal conversion process.Experiments have been carried out to investigate the effects of parameters on the formation of HCN and NH_(3) during Shenmu coal pyrolysis in a fixed-bed reactor.Experimental results indicated that the peak temperature affects the formation of HCN and NH3,particle size,heating rate and gas flow rate.In pace with increasing the end temperature and heating rate,the more HCN and NH_(3)release.Particle size has a reverse effect on the formation of HCN and NH_(3).The gas flow rate influences the HCN and NH_(3) depending on the mode of pyrolysis.

    The chlorine emission characteristics during coal heating in reductive atmosphere were studied through different coal samples pyrolysis and analysis the factors influencing chlorine emission.The absorption model of chlorine occurrence in coal was established and the absorption energy of different coal samples was worked out.The results indicate that absorption energy is related with coal rank,especially with volatile matter form a linear relation.

  • Study on Desulfurization Bacterium Magnetizing Cultivated and Bio-Leaching Removal the Pyrite in Coal

    Desulfurization effect of pyrite sulfur in coal was studied by using the magnetizing cultivates the China coal series and non-coal series thiobacillus ferrooxidans.Result is shown that,the magnetizing environment has a promotion role on mineral chemistry nutrition desulfurization bacterium thiobacillus ferrooxidans growth.Maximum desulfurization rate of coal series thiobacillus ferrooxidans under certain magnetizing cultivate condition reached 86.16 % that is higher than the non-coal series.Obviously,the coal series thiobacillus ferrooxidans is better for coal desulfurization.

  • Algorithms for Optimizing the Model of Steam Coal Blending

    This paper focuses on modelling of steam coal blending with application of some non-linear theories,based on the requirement of consumers and the principle fundaments of some algorithms to optimising steam coal blending process.The result of studies state clearly as follows: Enumerative algorithm is accurate but not efficient while mixed discrete-variables optimisation design can only achieve part optimisation and is easily trapped into partially optimised result;With strong robustness,genetic algorithm is good at searching for the final optimised result.And simulated-annealing algorithm is simple and of a great ability of local searching.On the basis of the two later algorithms,this paper proposes a hybrid algorithm of genetic algorithm and simulated-annealing algorithm.The new hybrid algorithm may produce a more marked effect than other single algorithm.

  • Study on the Application of Nanofiltration Membrane in Coal Mining Water Treatment

    This paper introduced the process of nanofiltration for treating mining water containing suspended matters.The influence of nanofiltration membrane operating condition to the filtration function of membrane and the effect of the combined process on coal mining water treatment were investigated.The experimental results showed that when operated at the cycle of T=30min and adapted to backaeration,the fouling of the membrane decreased effectively.The effluent quality of the system is stable and the tested items of the effluent met the national drinking criterion.The nanofiltration membrane is a high-efficiency and economical process in coal mining water treatment.

  • The Effect of N-NH3 in Coking Wastewater on the Rheological Characteristic of CWS

    Two kinds of low degree coalification coal,Xinjiang 1# and Xinjiang 2#,have been adopted to make CWS with(N-NH_(3))ammonia-containing coking wastewater in this study.The results show that it is hard to produce CWS due to high content of oxygenic functional groups,high inherent moisture and low grindability of the coal.Ammonia-containing coking wastewater of different concentrations have been used in the experiments for a further study on how the ammonia concentration affects the rheological characteristic of CWS.The experiments indicated that it had disadvantageous effects on the rheological characteristic.As the concentration increased,the apparent viscosity of CWS increased and the liquidity gradually decreased,but the stability improved.
