• Devoted Major Effects to Developing Clean Coal Technology-Initiation the Sustainable Development New Phase of Jiangsu Coal Enterprises

    The supply and demand of coal and development situation of clean coal technology in Jiangsu Province are analyzed in detail. A few of suggestions that are directed against the existence problems in Jiangsu province are provided. The coal market situation today is that the supply exceeds demand, demand falls fast and keen competition. Therefore, the clean coal technology should be put into fast development and paid more attention. It is not only solving the environment pollution problem during the coal development and application, but also to promote the regulation of product structure and product upgrade in whole province' coal enterprises. It is also a strategy selection of sustainable development in coal industrial.

  • Status and Development of Coal Basis Methanol in China

    The development tendency of advanced coal chemical engineering and energy structure in China are analyzed in this paper. Spread and application of methanol fuel for substitute the gasoline (or part substitute) have an important role in adjustment energy structure, relaxation supply and demand contradiction of petroleum. The coal basis methanol technology is mature and low cost. At the same time, the methanol automobile technology had been developed at matured level. Status and development of methanol market in domestic and abroad is analyzed. The result is indicated that, the chemicals are fast in China however the demand is not large. But the methanol fuel market is very large. At present, supply and demand of methanol is balance. However, a large part of production plants are small scale and it cannot form the scale benefit. Therefore, product competition ability is lower with abroad product. A task of top priority is that, to develop the large-scale methanol production plant with an obvious economic benefit is necessary.

    Environment and health implications of major emissions from conversion processes of coal are discussed. Many of the compounds, such as CS 2, COS, H 2S, NH 3, HCN, and BTX might be emitted from pyrolysis conversions of coal, and an assessment of potential phytotoxicity of selected coal conversions effluents as well as a "blacklist" of priority pollutants in China are also listed. Cancer has been the primary health concern of workers in coal pyrolysis conversions. The most important potential carcinogens appear to be the polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and other organic compound groups, such as aromatic amines, and benezens etc., from coal conversion processes. The form, molecular structure and activity of these carcinogens are also discussed. As a sample of occupational hazards, a relationship between exposure to coal-tar pitch volatiles and excess cancer risk to exposed coke workers is presented.
