The effects of Ca/S mole, coal blending, coal preparation, combustion style and temperature, Coal quality and desulfurization agent on the desulfurization effect were studied through to selected several representative steam coals. The desulfurization effect is related with the coal rank and quality. It is suitable for desulfurization when the organic sulfur and illite content are high in coal. If wish to increase the desulfurization effect, it can adopt following measures such as coal blending and preparation, increasing Ca/S mole, decreasing combustion temperature and to add the additive agent.

The desulfurization process selection and its rationale utilization are based on the various pattern sulfur distributions and its inlay characteristic in coal. Various sulfur distributions in Heshan high sulfur coal was studied in detail by using the zinc chloride flotation and lithofacy analysis measures. The result shown that, the organic sulfur content in Heshan high sulfur coal is more than 80 %, therefore its sulfur can not remove enough by using the preparation process.

The water quality has affected the products of dye house and chemical factory along the Yangtse River due to it was polluted. A water treatment was studied using the fly ash as adsorbent. The water quality can reach following index COD Mn <6 mg/L; pH = 7 about; Colority<5 degree after treatment by the fly ash therefore the adsorption performance of it was satisfied. Also the removal COD Mn and decolor of waste water from leather factory were conducted using the coal ash as adsorbent. The result shown that the coal ash can reduce obviously the COD Mn content in waste water. The treatment process is easy and economy.
