The possibility of limit the yield in high sulfur coal production and related the evaluation of environmental and economical were studied. It was confirmed that, the SO 2 emission could be reduced effectually and the coal output in whole country could not be affected notably by limit the yield of high sulfur coal. A limit yield analysis was made from 112 high sulfur coal mines that are located at different regions in China. The SO 2 emission reduction will be 1 34 Mt/a when limit only to produce 18 58 Mt/a high sulfur coal at first. According to a calculation the SO 2 emission reduction will be 5 57 Mt/a which amount to 24% of the total SO 2 emission in China, if 82 4 Mt/a high sulfur coal was limited in production in whole country.

Methane (CH 4) is the second most important of the greenhouse gases after CO 2. Current total emission of CH 4 in worldwide are estimated to be 535 Mt/a, in which man-made emission from petroleum, natural gas and coal production, disposal of solid waste and sewage, rice cultivation, domesticated livestock and burning of biomass account for a greater proportion of about 70%. This paper presents systematically above mentioned CH 4 emission sources and some appropriate reducing countermeasures according to the investigation and studies of IEA Greenhouse Gas R&D Programme.

The influence factors of compression strength for coking coal slime briquette were studied based on the character of coking coal slime and through orthogonal and single factor experiment. It is confirmed that, compression strength of briquette is basically proportion to the addition amount of inert substance. The cold compression strength could be enhanced if Y f was selected as binder. At the same time, a deep inquisition was also made.

By using TGA FTIR MA technique, the effects of Cl content on the evoluation of HCl during combustion were evaluated. FTIR results indicate that the maximum absorbency of HCl released from medium and high chlorine content coal is basically proportion to the content of chlorine. MS results show that T max1 (at about 300 ℃) of the first HCl peak is independent on the Cl content in coal. A direct relationship between chlorine content and the HCl release (integration of area) was established with good agreement ( R 2=0 997). Three HCl peaks were observed during combustion. This indicates the existence of three mechanisms of chlorine binding and release. The first release peak is due to Cl - ion normally adsorbed on micropore walls. The second emission represents more tightly bond with coal matrix. The third peak is a result of inorganic chlorides in the coal.

The pulverized coalfired boiler burned high grade coal will be shut down according to the national energy policy because of its high emissions. It is possible to retrofit PC boiler into circulating fluidized bed boiler where low grade coal can be used as the fuel. Based on detail calculation, a concept design was introduced in this paper. The original condition was considered in this reasonable design, its performance is insured.

At first the raw coal and fine ash qualities were introduced in this paper. The main technical parameters of the electrostatic precipitator after technical reform and a series of measures in the reform scheme were introduced. The cleaning efficiency of the electrostatic precipitator was increased from 75 1% of the cyclone to 98 93%. A better benefit of environment and economy was gained such as the dust emission reduced 5 957 5 t/a, power consumption reduced 350 MWh/a and power generation can be increased 720 MWh/a.

This article introduces the method of oxygen bomb combustion cold atomic absorption for determination of the mercury in coal. The determination limit is below 0 13 ng/ml and recovery is 86%~115%. RSD is less than 3 0% and the correlation coefficient is 0 9996. The experimental result is show that the method is simple, convenient and accurate. It is a very practical method for analysis of the trace mercury in coal.
