  • PROSPECTS FOR THE CHINESE COAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRY IN EARLY 21 CENTURY

    Based on the features of trend of the varied energy consumptinn in the world in 21 century and the varied chemical feedstock,refering to the abroad recent developments in new technologies,considering the domestic industrial and research foundations,the article describes the technical developmentsof the Chinese coal chemical industry and offers suggestions,including coal gasification,alkanes and olefins from syngas substitute fuel of a motor and newly-devel-oped civil fuel,oxygen containing compounds from coal,utilization of coking tar,calcium car-bide and acetylene chemistry,phosgene and its substitute.

  • COAL AND CLEAN COAL TECHNOLOGIES IN CHINA

    Both the proved coal reserves and the consumption of coal in China are in the dominant position of the national primary energy mix. Chinese coal reserves and mines mainly concentrated in North and North - west China. Chinese coal is of many different ranks and more difficult to wash. It has high sulfur and ash content, and is widely used in all industries and is trades sector. The situation and status in Chinese Clean Coal Technologies (CCCT) are mentioned, the main gap in CCT between China and advanced countries are the scale of available technology and the maturity of the CCT. Some suggestions, such as choosing the most suitable CCT according the coal characteristics and the users, in R&D of China's CCT, to promoting international cooperation, and focus on the main coal consumers, key technologies and more mature technologies etc. Have been made.

  • EVALUATING THE COAL WASHABILITY IN WUDA COALFIELD WITH THE VIEW OF COAL PETROLOGY

    In this paper, authors evaluate the coal washability using the petrological method of clean coal yeild and coal density consist in Wuda coalfield. The characters of the method include less amount of coal samples used and more sampling points. The result of the study can well depict the laws governing the 3 - dimensional variation of washability and understand the kind, the character of its distrilbution of minerals in coal and their relations with washability. What s more, it can also expoise the intrinsic factors which may affect the washability of coal to give the reliable theory basis for coal preparation.

  • STUDY ON THE CHARACTERISTICS OF SULFUR RETENTION SORBENT FOR BRIQUETTE COAL

    The limestone, slaked lime, calcium carbide slag, paper making waste and red mud are used as sulfur retention sorbent for briquette coal.The retention characteristics of them have been studied by mean of experiments.The optimum sulfur retention temperature and Ca/S mole ratio ranges have been obtained. It was found that, at the temperature of stocker boiler condition, the seven compound desulfurization sorbents are better than the pure calcium based sulfur retention sorbent and the sulfur retention effciency can be improved by 12% -27% than that.

  • THE EFFECT OF DEMINERALIZATION ON CO_2 GASIFICATION REACTIVITY OF IRON, NICKEL - LOADED CHARS

    The purpose of this study was to clarify the influence of demineralization on gasification reactivity of coal chars catalyzed by Fe or Ni salts. Metallic salts loading was performed by impregnation method with an nitrate solution. The gasification reactivity was:investigated by performing temperature - programmed reactions (TPR) with coal chars prepared at the same carbonization conditions under 0.1 MPa CO2 stream. The results showed that Ca element led to higher gasification reactivity of chars loaded with iron, but Si had no influence on the catalysis by iron. X- ray diffraction (XRD) has been used to determine the chemical states of metallic catalysts dispersed on the surface of coal chars. The different behaviour of Ca and Si clement may be due to their different influence on the reduction or dispersion of transition metallic salts during py-rolysis, i. e., the existence of calcium benefited the reduction of iron and the dispersion of Ni, but Si existed as SiOa independently, and hadn' t formed the unsoluble substances with metallic catalysts.

  • A CLEAN COAL - BURNING POWER PLANT

    A power plant in USA has become a clean project for coal burning. SO2 absorber can achieve a SO2 removal efficiency of 98% while producing maximum solid or liquid waste. Low NOx burner and post - combustion NOx removal technology can substantially reduce NOx emmission, the use of heat pipe air heater can improve power plant efficiency a little while using corrosion control system to prevent corrosion automatically.
